The Challenges are the soul of Meridian Stories. These are the curricular-driven activities that prompt teams of students to create media narratives.
Each Challenge includes the following information:
The Challenge: A detailed description of the Challenge itself.
Range of Activities: A summary of the skill sets that will be tested.
Process: A breakdown, into three detailed phases, of the creative development and production process that the student teams will go through.
Essential Questions: The curricular questions that drive the content of the Challenge.
Student Outcomes: The expected learning outcomes for student teams.
Evaluation Rubric: A detailed rubric in the areas of Content Mastery, Storytelling Mastery, Media Literacy Mastery and 21st Century Skills Mastery, that clearly indicates the criteria by which the Challenge will be judged.
Curricular Correlations: A cross-referencing of the Challenge’s curricular objectives with the Common Core Standards or other relevant, national standards.
